About
The Prize
Prosperity Prize is a new savings program designed to help low-income workers build emergency savings and long-term financial security through matching contributions. The prize is sponsored by the Sunday Foundation, a California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to economic development, financial inclusion, and poverty alleviation.
Backstory
The Prosperity Prize was founded by Bryan Greenwood and the Sunday Foundation. After many years of service in microfinance, it became increasingly difficult to ignore elephant in the room: the fact more than a billion people across the world have no savings, not even for emergencies. Consequently, we created the Prosperity Prize to inspire, encourage, and help people save money.
Our mission is to help promising, young, low-income workers living with tight budgets to save money so they can be prepared for the future and whatever life throws their way. We also hope our prizes lay the foundation for financial literacy, optimism, and long-term asset accumulation.
